HYP3R On Location ?: Top Social Insights from Dreamforce 2017

What a whirlwind! If you attended Dreamforce like me, you’re probably still in recovery mode (and catching up on your overflowing inbox ?).

This week, 170,000 business and technology leaders descended upon downtown San Francisco for four jam-packed days of learning, networking and inspiration.

What began in 2003 as a small trade show with 1,000 attendees has exploded into one of the biggest technology conferences in the world. In addition to tech industry leaders like Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, IBM CEO Ginni Rometty, and YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, Dreamforce attendees also got to hear from former First Lady Michelle Obama, Ashton Kutcher and will.i.am. Not to mention, a concert at AT&T Park with Alicia Keyes and Lenny Kravitz.

Clearly there’s a lot to talk about at this event! Dreamforce attendees were eager to share their insights and “wow” moments on social media ?. HYP3R crunched the social numbers, so let’s dive in!

Dreamforce by the numbers

Here’s a high-level view of the social activity at Dreamforce:

A round of applause for the top emojis

Dreamforce sessions gave attendees all the feels. And sometimes when you’re so in awe of a speaker that you can’t find the right words, emojis will do the trick. Here are the top ten emojis from the event:

First Lady buzz

One of the most highly anticipated keynote speakers at this year’s Dreamforce was Michelle Obama. From November 6–7, the former First Lady was mentioned in a whopping 8,129 posts.

All about #AI

The top five hashtags are not too surprising, but it’s interesting to see that Salesforce’s efforts to push topics like artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT) paid off .

To tweet or to ‘gram?

Like most conference goers, Dreamforce attendees heavily favored Twitter over Instagram, posting nearly 90,000 tweets using #DF17 compared to over 3,200 ‘grams.

That’s a wrap!
